The Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (KYOMAF), one of the largest of its kind in western Japan, will be held for the seventh time on Sept. 15 and 16 at the Miyakomesse convention center, but with a new look this year.
To liven up the festival, visuals created in collaboration with popular titles have been unveiled.
The first batch of the visuals feature characters from “Peacemaker Kurogane,” “Re: ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-” and “Lupin the Third: Part 5” standing against the backdrop of Kyoto’s historical sites. The second batch shows characters from “King of Prism: Pride the Hero,” “Angels of Death” and “Natsume's Book of Friends.”
The festival features booths set up by publishers, broadcasters and anime companies to promote new titles and sell related items. Live shows on stage and other performances are also offered at the venue.
Products developed by Kyoto-based companies and original merchandise will be offered at a KYOMAF shop. There will also be a workshop where visitors can make original items using traditional crafting techniques, as well as an anime-themed cafe.
In addition, a career fair for anime and game companies operating in Kyoto and an exhibition devoted to manga titles whose stories take place in the city will be offered for the first time.
