Your name. Director Makoto Shinkai Teases New Film for Next Year
Anime MOVIE director Makoto Shinkai (your name.) New teased on his Twitter account on Thursday that he is working on a new feature film for next year.
Shinkai previously said at the Busan International Film Festival in October 2016 that he would like to make his next work at TOHO within three years. He commented that his next work will probably be about young boys and girls in adolescence.
Shinkai's your name. film opened in Japan in August 2016, and has become the fourth highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, the second highest-grossing Japanese film, and the second highest-grossing anime film, with earnings of more than 25 billion yen (about US$225 million).
